<iJJ> Obama wins votes at Fargo Ramada ; Obama wins big in North Dakota
I helped count and also staff here in Fargo :D . Obama took 2210, Hillary took 1299. My observations of those who voted for Obama showed gender and age didn’t matter. At NDSU (the other Fargo caucus site) it was Obama 1139 and Clinton 310, 77% to 20% of that site’s vote for Obama. Yep, Fargo followed the national trend of college students for Obama.

<iJJ>ND Caucus results with 100% of sites reporting (19.012):
Barack Obama: 11,625 (61%)
Hillary Clinton: 6,948 (36%)
Various: 439 ( Edwards: 283, Dennis Kucinich: 72, Mike Gravel: 31, Other: 53)

<iJJ> North Dakota Dem-NPL caucus chairs report high turnout
19,012 for the Dems compared to almost 10,000 for the GOP. Yes, ND is typically a “red” state. Not today though ;) .
5041 of the 19012 caucus goers voted in Fargo, about 1 in 4 (26%) of ND caucus voters. Note; not all votes cast in Fargo are Fargo-area residents (party rules stated you could vote at any site), however I’d reckon at least 95% of them were.

<iJJ> Obama Wins (13/22)
ND, MN, IL, CT, AL, GA, DE, CO, ID, KS, UT, MO, AK

<iJJ> Clinton Wins (9/22)
NY, MA, AR, NJ, TN, OK, AZ, CA, NM* (* an iJJ projection so I can go to bed ;) )

<iJJ> McCain Wins (9/21)
AZ, NY, NJ, IL, OK, DE, CT, MO, CA

<iJJ> Huckabee Wins (5/21)
AR, GA, WV, AL, TN

<iJJ> Romney Wins (7/21)
MN, ND, UT, MA, MT, CO, AK

<iJJ> What does this mean for delegates?
For the Republicans its means that McCain takes a decent sized lead over Romney and Huckabee. For the Democrats it is a dead heat, even though Obama won more states and Clinton won California delegates are allocated proportionally according to congressional districts. Momentum, and time, still seem to favor Obama – however only time (and more primaries/caucuses) will tell.

<iJJ> Deadly storms halt Southern voters
Holy crap! Talk about Mother Nature not liking the I-40 corridor. My condolences and prayers go out to those affected by these awful storms. So far at least 23 are dead, many injured and/or trapped by the storms.

<iJJ> Darkness and Light
Maureen Dowd’s take on Clinton/Obama post-Super Tuesday. A good read.

The democratic race is getting very exciting! Who will it be!? I am slightly rooting for Obama, but I won’t be disappointed if Hillary gets the nom though.

    Nice site btw.
