<iJJ> OJ Simpson Visits Fargo
OJ is in town with his girlfriend, whom apparently is from here I guess, and has created an unexpected media circus. Hell, the buzz has even reached the StarTrib (via AP) and KARE11 (via KVLY11) in the Twin Cities. When I first saw a friends status on facebook with something like “I just saw OJ Simpson in a bar” I thought they were hallucinating – apparently not. Only in Fargo, I guess.
<iJJ> No Gay Prayer Service In Church? Ok, Let’s Take It Outside!
After being told by the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis that gay people sucked (or something to that effect) and they could not hold a pride prayer service in the church of St. Joan of Arc in south Minneapolis they said fine. Then they moved the service to the lawn outside of the church and held the prayer service anyways. Ah, almost makes me wanna be Catholic again. Almost.
<iJJ> Why can’t my son be gay?
This column has to be read to be believed. As in its a pretty humorous satire of sorts.
We all know the fate that awaits mothers of heterosexual sons. After straight boys learn how to order pizza, Mom becomes an abstraction. Straight sons sort of get that their mom is a tremendously powerful force in their lives, but, like the Federal Reserve System, they have no real understanding of or interest in how she works.
Wonder what my mom would think of this article…
<iJJ> FX show 30 Days’ gay adoption show sux
I mean, the entire gay blogosphere lit up with what the f*ck today. Joe.My.God., Towleroad, Eleventh Ave South, and Good As You just to name a few. As with GLAAD they didn’t like the Family Research Council dude, but also were appalled by the lady who talked about her gay dad talking about bathhouse sex at the kitchen table. Wingnuts anyone?
<iJJ> Human Rights Campaign Gets Their Trans Comeuppance
The HRC abandoned the trans community last year in the fight to past ENDA (like Bush would let it pass…) and is now getting a taste of its own medicine. A protest will be taking place at an HRC Gala to raise funds for the marriage equality fight in CA. While I can admire that they are helping out in CA (to the tune of $500k) however it’ll take quite a bit to make up for the stupidity that was their strategy on ENDA last year.

I am unsure as to the frequency of posts over the next 10 days. First is TC Pride, then the 4th of July back in Bismarck with family. So yea. Oh btw, if I haven’t mentioned it already (don’t think I have) I have been admitted into Graduate School and will be moving to Grand Forks in August. So life will finally be interesting for me again.
Later.
