The awkward yet somewhat touching scene(s) with Kurt and Finn – ‘I’ll Stand By You’ indeed. Which continues on as Kurt cultivates a close friendship and tries to be Finn’s “rebound guy” once he renounces women when Quinn dumps him ( ). Riiiiiiiight.
I also heart how Mr. Shue’s attempt to thwart Rachel’s crush by singing “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” back-fired and made Emma and Rachel (and me) melt.

I am saddened by one thing though… No Sue!
I need me some Sue. Stat!!!

The scenes with Sue and her sister and later with Kurt and his dad (the one quoted above) almost made me cry. This episode showed that this show is probably going to get a lot more into back stories – which is awesome. Plus there were enough Sue quotes to satisfy me – if there aren’t enough good Sue quotes I start getting cranky. Especially since baseball deprived me of them for several weeks. Damn baseball…

In what has become somewhat of a tradition for me on November 5th, I have watched V for Vendetta.

The odd thing about Guy Fawkes Day/Night is that it is more about authority than anything.
The Gunpowder Plot people were against the anti-Catholic authority of the English Crown (recall, that England was dominated by the Protestant ‘Church of England’).
Over the years it has seemed to become more of a reminder to question authority than anything. Kind of like how American Independence Day has become more of a reminder to value our freedom, in addition to the birthday of the USA.

Question authority, value freedom.
